The Peer Review Board is an informal hearing body established by the Undergraduate Code of Conduct. All members of the Board are undergraduate students. A staff member from the Office of Student Conduct serves as a non-voting advisor to the Board.
As an informal hearing body the Board is empowered to receive reports of alleged violations of the Code, hold meetings with students accused of violating the Code, determine if a student accused of violating the Code is responsible for the alleged violation, and recommend sanctions to the Director of Student Conduct. Decisions of the Board can be appealed.
The Board meets every Wednesday from 4PM-6PM in the Alumni Memorial University Center to review cases referred by the Director of Student Conduct. The Board typically reviews reports of alleged misconduct for individual students who have not previously participated in the student conduct process. Most of the Board's cases are based on reports submitted by Residence Life staff about behavior observed in the residence halls. This board is advised by Liz Carty, Compact Compliance and Student Conduct Coordinator.

Philip May
Fmr. Peer Review Board Member and SGA Attorney General
"Working with the Office of Student Conduct has given me great insight into what it means to judge a case based on evidence and testimony, and having to weigh credibility in making decisions. Conduct often requires some creative thinking to try to make stories mesh and figure out what actually happened, something that will be beneficial for me and for any student considering a career in legal studies. It also opens up a whole new area of the university for you to see, and permits interactions with administrators and others whom you might never otherwise meet"

Chioma Agu
Fmr. Peer Review Board Member
"Participating...as a student panelist gives me the opportunity to speak for my fellow students in conjunction with faculty and staff members. I feel as though I bring a fair and clear perspective on any situation we evaluate, simply because I am an average student partaking in the college social scene. I am pleased to find that the board members do not want to punish the suspect or assume the role of his/her parent. We take the side of the victim, actually, and will do anything to ensure that fair measures are taken."

Ruchir Patel
Fmr. Peer Review Board Member and SGA Vice President
"Being a member of the Peer Review Board has been an extremely rewarding and insightful experience. As a student, you are able to apply a more critical and accurate depiction of students' conduct violations, but at the same time it is challenging to self administer the University Code upon your fellow peers. I originally joined the Peer Review Board after spending a great deal of time in front of the Conduct Office, and decided that it might be interesting to see how thing are done from the other side. Upon joining, I have gained a much greater respect and appreciation for the individuals who actively work in keeping the Emory Community a safe and dependable environment."
