University Conduct Council

The University Conduct Council is the hearing body that reviews charges of misconduct made against students. The Council represents three university constituencies: faculty, non-faculty employees, and undergraduate students. Formal hearings are conducted by panels of the Council; each panel is chaired by a non-voting designee of the Director of Student Conduct and has majority student representation. All members of the Council are appointed by the Director of Student Conduct for one-year, renewable terms.

It is a common misnomer for members of the community to refer to the Council Council generally as the body responsible for administering the Code. The Conduct Council is a hearing body, but the Office of Student Conduct is the administrative unit of the university responsible for undergraduate students' non-academic misconduct.
